Tips for Grout Cleaning

Grout cleaning is very important to maintain the attractive looks of the floor tiles. If proper care is not taken then grout becomes discolored, and place for the growth of mildew and mold. Some people try to cleverly clean the gout by moping them, but guys we are not cleaning them rather moving dirt from one end to another.

* The easiest way to clean grout is to loosen the dirt filled using dry / wet vacuum. This will help in pulling out the dirt completely.

* One of the best tips to keep grout clean is to place a floor mat at the entrance of the room. Always wipe your shoes or remove the shoes and then enter the home. This will minimize the collection of dirt.

* You can also use bleach to clean the mold and mildew on the grout. This will lighten the color of stain but is effective temporarily only.

* Steam extraction is yet another method for cleaning the grouts. For this you would require a steam extraction machine. Here it will be wiser to take the help of a professional, because they are well versed with the working of the machine. The machine conveniently dislodges the dirt packed into the miniscule grout holes and pick them up once for all. This method is safe and does not affect the tiles in any manner.

* Last but not the least you can try a home remedy as well. Mix half as cup of baking soda, one third cup of ammonia, and one forth cup of white vinegar in 7 cups of water. Pour the mixture in a spray bottle and shake well. Now you can spray the mixture on the dirty grout and using a damp cloth, clean the grouts. No wash is required here.
