We all know that common places for mold growth are bathroom tile grout, bathtubs, garden walls, balcony floors, etc. Mold growth can occur due to many reasons prime being collection of water, high moisture level in the air, leaky roof, low building maintenance, interior plumbing problem, and many more.
It is recommended by EPA to get the mold-affected area of more than 3 by 3 feet remediate by a professional company. Still if you think that you are capable than them, here are some of the easy steps that will help in mold remediation are:
* Proper cleaning of floors: You might use a biocide for killing the mold. But they are not sufficient enough. It is necessary to use wet vacuum cleaners for cleaning the place. This will help in removing water from floors, carpets and other hard surfaces.
* Proper damp wiping: After the floors have been cleaned, then need to be wiped off with damp cloth. This will ensure quick drying and prevent possible growth of mold.
* If there are many things in your home that have been completely damaged due to flood / hurricane or due to water leak, then it is wiser to dispose them at the earliest.
* If you could identify the source of water that has resulted in mold growth then cut off that main source.
