water damage remediation

If you are the one who wants to get the water damage remediation personally done under your supervision, then here are some of the precautions that one must take.
* Have personal protective equipment ready. This means wear long gloves that could extend easily up to middle air. The professional cleaners usually use biocide or strong cleaning agent that can harm your skin. So its good to use gloves that are made from PVC, natural rubber, polyutherthane are considered to be safest.
* Wear goggles that fit you and completely prevent the entry of dust and small particles. You can also wear full mask respirator as it has HEPA filters.
* Disposable protective clothing should be worn prevents the spread of molds & also eliminates the skin’s contact with mold.
Beside personal care see to it that the right remediation steps and procedure are been followed or not?
* Everything from the water should be removed and cleaned. All the appliances should be cleaned properly. The tanks, hosepipes, attachments of the vacuum should be cleaned and dried. See to it that the filters are treated with antibacterial agent, to prevent the growth of molds/ bacteria. If the filter is being changes for duct devices then it should be disposed off in a sealed bag.
* Damp wipes all the surfaces to prevent mold growth.
* Discard all the material that is damaged or cannot be used in future in a sealed plastic bag.
* If you have wallpaper and plans to remove it then be careful. The underside of the paper has the tendency to release massive spores from mold growing undersides.
